Designed with architect Ali Tayar at Parallel Design for 28 Greene Street, the repeating alumimum linkages and panels suit a modular apartment space based on the work of Swiss architect Fritz Haller. Featured in several architectural publications, the ‘Queen of Greene’ was an historic building fully restored externally and updated internally. I manged the custom metalwork, oversaw install, design engineered and obtained necessary certifications.
We machined over 1,000 identical aluminum links directly from billets of aluminum. After an automated machined, tumbled, bead blasted and anodized finish process, the links were ready for assembly into modular stair sections.
